Maintain Your New Memorial
Once you’ve purchased a memorial it will take simple regular cleaning to keep it looking as new. But there are few things you need to be aware of so that you don’t cause more harm than good. Below is a guide to maintaining your new memorial.
On granite memorials we recommend cleaning of the memorial is done with soapy water and a sponge, if necessary you can use a very soft bristled brush taking extra care when cleaning inside of the letters and always rinse the memorial with clean water following any cleaning.
We do not recommend using any chemicals at all when cleaning a memorial this includes household bleach, brick cleaner (believe it or not it happens) this will cause damage to the memorial and especially the paint or gold leaf in the letters which will in turn affect its longevity.
Make sure to remove wreath wire, and do not place coins etc on the memorial to avoid rust staining, this is especially prominent on light granite colours and marble. If you have any stains of this nature we suggest contacting us to remove these for you.
If you have any issues you need advice on then please do contact us and we will do our best to help.
