Order Process and Timescales
Step 1 – Once you have chosen your memorial please speak to one of our experienced staff and let us know of any bespoke requirements or any details you are unsure about. It is also beneficial if you have the text you would like as we can then speak to the relevant authorities to make sure the memorial you have chosen will be permitted, some burial authorities have different rules and regulations and we will be able to make sure your memorial meets their guidelines before we go any further.
Step 2 – Once you have decided on the memorial and are happy with the inscription and any design work we will then ask for a 20% deposit plus the relevant Cemetery/Church Memorial fees. This can be paid by either Debit or Credit card, Bank Transfer, Cash or Cheque.
Step 3 – We will now get our highly skilled staff to prepare a full colour CAD proof drawing for your approval. We can email this as well as send hard copies if needed. You may make as many changes as you wish until you are completely satisfied with the layout. Once you are happy we will ask for you to approve the layout please check all spelling and dates as this is exactly what will be inscribed on the memorial.
Step 4 – We will send the application to the relevant burial authority once we have received approval from the burial authority (approval usually takes 2-4 weeks but can take longer) we will commence the work in due course. If you have a photo plaque we will now ask for a picture either via email or a hard copy, please use the highest resolution photo you can.
Step 5 – We receive permission from the relevant burial authority and memorial work can now begin.
Step 6 – We will now put your memorial into production and always ensure the highest quality workmanship.
Step 7 – Once the memorial is ready to be installed by our team of BRAMM and NAMM registered fixers, we ask for full payment.
Step 8 – The memorial will be fitted 7-10 days following payment. We are happy for you to view your memorial prior to payment and we can also send you an image for you to view.
A headstone can typically be installed on the grave around 6 months after the burial has taken place. If cremated remains are to be interred the headstone can be installed immediately and no settlement period is necessary. If the cemetery or churchyard has strip beam foundations in place, then a headstone can also be fitted immediately after a burial.
How long will my memorial take to be completed?
We estimate that our standard memorials or stock memorials will take 10-12 weeks to go from manufacturing to installation.
The 10–12 weeks time period is taken from when we receive approval from the cemetery or church authority not from when the order is initially placed. This is due to us not being able to start any work until we receive the approved application. The process of obtaining any permission is carried out by us on your behalf and is generally straight forward. If you are having a bespoke memorial made sometimes this can take a little longer.
We always aim to complete all our orders within the 10-12 weeks timeframe although sometimes it can take a little longer due to circumstances out of our control i.e. council and church response times taking longer than normal and shipment delays.
If you are ordering a bespoke memorial or a memorial which we or our suppliers do not have in stock the estimate time frame is 14-16 weeks.
